Dear reader,
It's been a while since we sent out our save-the-date, so it's high time for a proper update. A lot has been happening behind the scenes, and there is quite a lot to share. In this first newsletter: an introduction to the team, an overview of everything we've set in motion, and two calendar items we'd like to put on your radar.
Meet the team behind IODA 2027
The IODA 2027 Conference is being organized by five Dutch OD professionals who have been active in the field for many years. They share a genuine passion for organizational development and a firm belief that the Netherlands can offer the international OD community something truly special in 2027.
What we've done so far
The past months have been full of exploration, networking, and building.
Here are some highlights:
We have been touring the Netherlands to find the perfect conference venue. In the next newsletter, we hope to tell you more.
We attended a Dutch OD conference to network and hand out save-the-date flyers, which sparked lively conversations about IODA 2027 on LinkedIn.
We've launched our LinkedIn page and our website: www.ioda2027.com.
We've assembled a Recommendation Committee, respected figures from the Dutch OD world, to help us attract funding and sponsorship.
Our sponsor proposal is in development.
M&O, the leading Dutch professional journal on organization and management, is publishing a special issue in Spring 2027 dedicated to our conference theme. The first authors' meeting is on Friday, 5 June 2026, at Sioo in Utrecht.

Friday 5 June 2026 — M&O authors' meeting at SIOO, Utrecht
M&O has committed to dedicating its Spring 2027 issue, "Organization Development in Perspective", entirely to our conference theme: Creating sparks to connect opposites. 'Promoting the spirit of inquiry. The kick-off is an in-depth meeting on Friday, 5 June 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00, at Sioo (Stadsplateau 12, Utrecht).
The guest editors, Fer van den Boomen, Paul Breman, and Marloes van der Werf, invite practitioners, researchers, and scholar-practitioners to explore ideas and engage in dialogue.

Agenda: 18 September 2026 — Next co-creation day at Leiden University
Following our productive co-creation day in Leiden last November, the next co-creation day is planned for 18th September in Utrecht. These are the sessions where the conference truly takes shape: hands-on building, creative thinking, and connecting.
